MCP2515 CAN Bus Module With TJA1050 Receiver is a simple and standalone CAN Controller module with a built in SPI Interface for communication with microcontrollers, which is based on MCP2515 CAN Controller chip and TJA1050 CAN Transceiver chip. This chip applies the CAN aspects, Version 2.0B. Which allows it to transmit and receive both standard and extended data and remote frames. The MCP2515 can interface with microcontrollers through an industry standard SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface). The MCP2515 IC is the main controller chip and composes of the CAN part, the control logic part and the SPI block.
The TJA1050 receiver chip is an interface between the CAN protocol controller and the physical bus, so it takes the data from the controller and relays it on to the bus. It furnishes 2 abilities, one ability of differential transmits to the bus and second ability of differential receive to the CAN controller. It is completely compliant with the “ISO 11898” standard and has a high speed with a very low EME (Electro Magnetic Emission). 
Therefore, This CAN bus module is a standalone CAN Controller, which has an integrated SPI Interface for communication with microcontrollers. Its pin and function is compatible with the MCP2510 and also includes upgraded specifications like faster throughput, Pin outs:
VCC: 5V power input pin
GND: power ground pin
CS: SPI SLAVE select pin (Active Low)
SO: SPI master input slave output lead
SI: SPI master output slave input lead
SCLK: SPI clock pin
INT: MCP2515 interrupt pin
