    constant voltage
    First, I connected it to the 12V adapter and set it to 5V. The next day, I connected it to the 19V adapter that is for the laptop, and it was set to 5V again. This constant voltage is very efficient. It means you don't have to worry about the voltage being too high or too low. Without a load, it gave me 1.5V to 18V.
