- The Si4703-C is a complete FM tuner receiver system from FM radio input to stereo output. A digital processor is integrated on-chip to handle the symbol decoding, block synchronization, error detection and error correction functions required by the Radio Data Broadcasting System (RBDS). The FM receiver uses a mixer to reduce the RF signal to a low intermediate frequency, thereby reducing the need for additional peripheral circuitry. The automatic frequency control (AFC) regulates the voltage controlled oscillator to generate quadrature local signals to the mixer, the quadrature mixer. The output is amplified, filtered and digitized by a high resolution analog to digital converter (ADC).
- Digital Signal Processing (DSP) performs channel selection, FM demodulation, and stereo audio processing. The internal automatic gain (AGC) circuit provides higher sensitivity and greater noise immunity by controlling the gain of the low noise amplifier (LNA). The on-chip integrated LDO regulator can be connected directly to the battery. The headphone jack can be plugged into the earphone as an RF receive antenna.
- This advanced architecture delivers superior performance compared to traditional analog architectures. The module also features a 150mW stereo power amplifier with thermal protection short-circuit protection and a 3.5mm headphone mount. Connected to a microcontroller to control volume, automatic manual search, software or hardware mute, measure signal strength.
