ESP8285 Module Compatibility Replaces ESP-01 ESP-01S
The ESP-01s 2023 version features the advanced ESP8285 MCU, fully compatible with the earlier ESP-01 model that utilized the ESP8266EX. The ESP8285 MCU integrates 1MB flash memory within the chip, eliminating the need for an external SPI flash, thus reducing power consumption and improving reliability. This updated module addresses Wi-Fi bugs found in the ESP8266EX, offering more secure and stable connections. The ESP-01s continues to support both the AT-Command set for use as a Wi-Fi adapter and direct C coding for standalone applications, ensuring seamless integration with previous models.
