Description
The Raspberry Pi Foundation wanted to create a HAT which not only contained a plethora of sensors but an interactive LED display with user input. The Sense HAT is the complete package if you're looking for a HAT to learn all kinds of different programming and hardware concepts. In fact, it's so cool, that the Raspberry Pi Foundation is using it to perform scientific experiments onboard the International Space Station!
The Sense hat gives you access to:
• Orientation (yaw, pitch & roll) via an accelerometer, 3D gyroscope, and magnetometer
• Pressure
• Humidity
• Temperature
A set of 4 standoffs is included in the packaging to safely secure the Sense Hat to your Raspberry Pi
It'd be a bit boring if all that data had to be contained to the terminal, so there's an 8x8 RGB LED matrix which can be used to display anything you like! A compass, tilt display, or interactive games such as Tetris, Pong, Snake, or Space Invanders (just to name a few) could all be displayed and interacted with using the onboard joystick. Oh yeah, there's an onboard joystick too, cool right!
