MQ-2 Smoke Gas Module Features
MQ series sensor uses a small heater inside with an electrochemical sensor in order to measure a different kinds of gas combinations. They can be calibrated, but, in order to do that, a known concentration of measured gas or gases is necessary. Gas sensor is an indoor module and is used at room temperature. The MQ-2 sensor is suitable for the detection of butane, methane, alcoholic, LPG and smoke. It is also sensitive to ignition and combustion of gases.
Note
After turning on the module, wait 2 minutes for the internal heater to warm up.

Interfacing MQ-2 Gas Sensor with Arduino
Step 1: Circuit
The following circuit shows how you should connect Arduino to MQ-2 module. Connect wires accordingly.
Step 2: Code
Upload the following code to your first Arduino.

// the setup routine runs once when you press reset:
void setup() {
// initialize serial communication at 9600 bits per second:
Serial.begin(9600);
}
// the loop routine runs over and over again forever:
void loop() {
// read the input on analog pin 0:
int sensorValue = analogRead(A0);
// print out the value you read:
Serial.println(sensorValue);
delay(20);
}
After uploading the code, you can see the output in the serial monitor.
