0.96 INCH OLED Display Module Features
OLED displays are high contrast and high-resolution displays, so they provide a good readability for users. There is no backlight on OLED, and it uses independent-illuminated pixels. So, it is thinner, low-power and more elegant in compare to LCDs. The driver chip is SSD1306, which provides SPI communication.
You can download the datasheet of this module here.

A useful post, found one of these displays and did not know what make it was, pin out etc.
For the wiring you have shown, I had to edit the code as below
// Declaration for SSD1306 display connected using software SPI (default case):
#define OLED_MOSI 11 // 9
#define OLED_CLK 13 //10
#define OLED_DC 8 //11
#define OLED_CS 10 //12
#define OLED_RESET 9 //13
//Adafruit_SSD1306 display(SCREEN_WIDTH, SCREEN_HEIGHT,
// OLED_MOSI, OLED_CLK, OLED_DC, OLED_RESET, OLED_CS);
//Comment out above, uncomment this block to use hardware SPI
//#define OLED_DC 6
//#define OLED_CS 7
//#define OLED_RESET 8
But a minor problem, I know the display works and can move onto getting it to work with a PICO for a project.
Steve
Hi.
Is your display a 0.96 inch OLED? It’s weird that is has the mirror problem, the mirror problem usually happens for 2.4 inch or larger OLED displays. The code in this tutorial had some issues by the way, and it has been modified. Check the new code and see if the problem is solved.
Thank you very much!
I have been struggling to implement this 0.96 SPI ssd1306 OLED with Arduino Uno.
There is a good tutorial on adafruit, but it doesn’t work:
https://www.adafruit.com/product/326
Your example works perfectly! Notable changes:
(~Line 36):
//Comment out above, uncomment this block to use hardware SPI
/*
//OLED SPI pinout Left to Right:
GND = GND
VCC = 5V or 3V
D0 = 13
D1 = 11
RES = 9
DC = 8
CS = 10
// UNO pinout Left to Right:
13 = D0
11 = D1
10 = CS
9 = RES
8 = DC
GND = GND
5V or 3V = VCC
*/
#define OLED_DC 8
#define OLED_CS 10
#define OLED_RESET 9
Adafruit_SSD1306 display(SCREEN_WIDTH, SCREEN_HEIGHT,
&SPI, OLED_DC, OLED_RESET, OLED_CS);
Works perfectly! Thanks again!
Hi,
You’re most welcome! So glad it could help you.
