Interfacing IR Flame Sensor Analog Output with Arduino

IR Flame Sensor Analog Output Features

This flame sensor module with analog output can be used to detect flames. You can easily connect this module to a variety of microcontrollers and make a device to detect fire. The output is an analog voltage, whose maximum value is 5 volts and will decrease as the flame increases.

IR Flame Sensor Analog Output Pinout

This Module has 3 pins:

  • OUT: Analog Output
  • VCC: Module power supply – 5V
  • GND: Ground

You can see the pinout of this module in the image below.

Interfacing IR Flame Sensor Analog Output with Arduino

Step 1: Circuit

The following circuit show how you should connect Arduino to this sensor. Connect wires accordingly.

Step 2: Code

Upload the following code to your Arduino. After that open Serial Plotter.

    /*

*/ void setup() { pinMode(A0,INPUT); Serial.begin(9600); } void loop() { Serial.println(analogRead(A0)); delay(100); }

In the above code, we used Arduino pin A0 as input for receiving the sensor analog output data. Then we observe its performance by placing flame in front of the sensor and removing it.

The result is as follows.
