Description
This module based on GUVA-S12SD that is suitable for detecting the UV radiation in sunlight. It can be used in any application where you want a monitor for the amount of UV light and is simple to connect to any microcontroller. It can be used in any application where you want to monitor for the amount of UV light and is simple to connect to any microcontroller. It uses a UV photodiode, which can detect the 240-370nm range of light (which covers UVB and most of the UVA spectrum). The signal level from the photodiode is very small, in the nano-ampere level, so we tossed on an opamp to amplify the signal to a more manageable volt-level. Its output is a calibrated analog voltage which varies with the UV light intensity so basically all you need to do is connect this to an ADC input and read in the value.
